Duke of Essex Polo Trophy 2009 - A Huge Success!

Thousands of visitors flocked to Gaynes Park on the 4th July for The Duke of Essex Polo Trophy. This year's event, organised by Media 10, was bigger and better than ever before, and has been hailed a success by all invoved! Visitors were treated to an action packed day of high-goal polo, with GB beating Argentina 9-6; incredible air displays, a fabulous fun fair and some great live performances from the likes of Kelly Rowland and Jocelyn Brown. Plus there were plenty of celebs including Katie Price, Penny Lancaster, Michelle Heaton, Anthony Costa, Joe Cole, Dane Bowers, Kelly Rowland and many more!

Katie Price Teams Up With The Duke of Essex Polo Trophy

Katie_PriceKatie Price has today been announced as the official Patron for the inaugural Duke of Essex Polo Trophy, in association with her chosen charity VISION.

Katie Price will front this high profile event in a bid to make Polo accessible to all, encouraging more people to participate in the traditionally elite sport - and to raise money and awareness for VISION, a charity which raises money for the benefit of Blind, Visual Impaired and Dyslexic children.

Let Loose perform acoustic set at the Duke's Marquee

letloose.1Let Loose began life as 90's pop/rock trio Richie Wermerling, Rob Jeffrey and Lee Murray . The band had huge success with the release of the massive summer smash hit single "Crazy For You" which Richie wrote and co- produced. It raced to number 2 in the charts and remained there for 8 weeks. It was only held off the No.1 spot by rival band Wet Wet Wet's cover of 'Love is all around'. "Crazy for You" sold 600,000 copies. Let Loose will be performing a live acoustic version of Crazy For You at 10pm in Duke Marquee.

This year we've laid on a dedicated bus service running from Epping tube/town centre to Gaynes park (from 11am-9pm), an onsite taxi rank, FREE parking, luxury toilet facilities, trade stalls and a plentiful array of catering facilities. This is your chance to enter a team of four Horses or Ponies of which two should be of 'Open standard' and two should be of 'Novice standard'. Show Jumping begins at 13:30.
